AN INTERVIEW WITH LINDA ZANGL: Peer Advocate at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center

Linda Zangl is the peer advocate assigned to the Buffalo Psychiatric Center, a state-run hospital located in Buffalo, New York.

She has been employed in this position for the last five years. The position is funded by the Western New York Independent Living Project through Erie County reinvestment funds. Peer advocates are individuals who represent someone else's interests. It is the individual recipient or consumer of mental health services who defines these interests and not the advocate...
